CURRICULUM OF BACHELOR OF ARTS (B.A.) DEGREE PROGRAMME
The college provides Bachelor Degree programme in Arts in accordance with Dibrugarh University curriculum.
Duration – 3 Years, Semester – 6
Semester Classification:
1st, 3rd & 5th semesters: Odd semesters: July, 01 to December, 31
2nd, 4th& 6th semesters: Even semesters: January, 01 to June , 30
Structure of Courses of the Programmes:
The B.A. Programme shall have the following components.Structure of Courses of the Programmes: The B.A. Programme shall have the following components.
- Compulsory Courses are common to all students of the programme.
- Major Courses shall be chosen by the students. Major Course shall be optional or non mandatory.
- Non-Major Course shall be chosen by the students who do not opt for major courses.
- A skill based course shall be mandatory for all students of pursuing general B.A. programme.
Subject mentioned below shall be offered in the Six Semester Degree Programme.
- Compulsory subjects: i) English ii) Modern Indian Language (MIL) Assamese or Alternative English. iii) Computer skills/Communication Skills, iv) Multi-disciplinary, v) Environmental Studies, vi) Skill based courses (for general programme only)
- Major Courses: Students may opt for major in any one of the following subjects. Candidates will be selected in order of merit for each major subject separately. Departments may conduct written test/interview for the selection of students.
Major Subjects: 1. Assamese, 2. English, 3. Economics, 4. Education 5. Political Science, 6. Sociology, 7. Geography and 8. History - Elective Subjects: Students has to choose any elective subject from the following

N.B: Students has to take English & MIL or Alt. English as compulsory & any elective subjects from the list. Environmental Science, Computer Skill/Communication Skill and Multidisciplinary are compulsory in Semester III and Semester IV respectively for both Major and Non-Major Students. In Semester V and VI the non-major students have to take any one of the following skill-based subject.
1. Tourism 2. Creative Writing 3. Teaching in Elementary Level 4. Entrepreneurship Development 5. Retail Management 6. Desktop Publishing(DTP) 7. Photoshop and Web Design.

Bachelor of Vocation
BACHELOR OF VOCATION (B. Voc.) PROGRAMME
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has launched a scheme on skills development based higher education as part of college/university education, leading to Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc.) Degree with multiple exits such as Diploma/Advanced Diploma under the NSQF. The B.Voc. programme is focused on providing undergraduate studies which would also incorporate specific job roles and their NOSs along with broad based general education. This would enable the graduates completing B.Voc. to make a meaningful participation in accelerating India’s economy by gaining appropriate employment, becoming entrepreneurs and creating appropriate knowledge.

The certification levels will lead to Diploma/Advanced Diploma/B. Voc.Degree in one or more vocational areas and will be offered under the aegis of the University. This is out-lined in the following Table.

Eligibility for admission in B.Voc.
The eligibility condition for admission to B.Voc. programme shall be 10+2 or equivalent, in any stream.
Curriculum
The curriculum in each of the years of the programme would be a suitable mix of general education and skill development components.
Guidelines for credit calculations
The following formula has been used for conversion of time into credit hours.
- One Credit would mean equivalent of 15 periods of 60 minutes each, for theory, workshops/labs and tutorials;
- For internship/field work, the credit weightage for equivalent hours shall be 50% of that for lectures/workshops;
- For self-learning, based on e-content or otherwise, the credit weightage for equivalent hours of study should be 50% or less of that for lectures/workshops.

Higher Secondary
CURRICULUM OF HIGHER SECONDARY (10+2) COURSE
Students has to take English & MIL (Assamese) or Alt. English as compulsory subjects and must take up minimum three elective subjects from the list given bellow.
In addition to three elective subjects students may opt for a fourth subject. The students are offered following subjects:

Economics, Political Science, History, Education, Adv. Assamese, Sociology, Geography, Mathematics and Statistics.

Admission Criteria
A student who has passed the High School Leaving Certificate Examination of the SEBA or an equivalent examination of 10th standard recognized by the Board shall be eligible for admission into H.S Ist year course.

Distance Learning
Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University (KKHSOU) Study Centre
The college runs a study centre under Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University (KKHSOU). The persons, who fail to attend regular courses but are willing to continue study, may avail themselves of the various courses/programmes given below. The University permits them to attend in counseling classes on every Sunday from 9:30 AM for the following three- year- courses:

- Bachelor of Computer Application
- Bachelor of Mass Communication
- Bachelor of General Degree courses: Assamese. English, Sociology, Economics, Pol. Science, History, Education, Mathematics, Journalism & mass communication, Assamese journalism

Distance Education:

PGDCA
(*) Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application (PGDCA): A One (01) Year Diploma Program in Computer Application including Two (02) Semester. Selection procedure for PGDCA program is on Merit Basis
Intake Capacity : 30
Eligibility Criteria : Graduate in any discipline recognized by Dibrugarh University with minimum 40% marks. Relaxation of 5% marks will be given to the candidates of reserved categories.
